Taking you to some of my favorite spots I got to experience while in Memphis…
As promised, here is my Memphis favorites guide. I’m going to try to start doing this more often when I travel. I know when I go to a new city, I always look to see if some of my favorite bloggers have made a guide. So I decided to share my favorites with you from my little trip to Memphis with Rachel! It’s mainly vintage shops because honestly, that was one of the very BEST things about Memphis (seriously, the thrifting was excellent!).
Red Velvet Vintage
I am starting with this one because HOLY CRAP it was beyond my favorite. From this little shop, I ended up buying this white whicker bag (pictured below!), a straw hat, a white button down, anchor headband, and a really cute valentine heart pin. They had a mix of vintage and new,but I was in love with a lot of the vintage! Seriously, I feel like vintage accessories can sometimes be hard to get stellar one,but I was going crazy wanting to buy everything! I really want to go back to Memphis just to visit Red Velvet alone.
Stock and Belle
This store was so pretty and reminded me of a store in Brooklyn. With a lot of the store being white and simple, it was easy to see the USA designers they carried and all of the beautiful details on their clothing. I loved a lot of the jewelry here and so did Rachel! She ended up buying a blanket, pillow, and a necklace! They sadly don’t have a website yet,but if you’re in Memphis this is a really cute shop to check out! Plus they have men and womens!
Hoot and Louise
Another amazing vintage store. Less of the cutesy stuff like Red Velvet and more of the denim, patches, tee’s and classics! Of course though I managed to find a really girly pair of 80’s deadstock shorts and a red wrap skirt that has a little strawberry patch on it. So there is cutesy stuff here too! I loved seeing all of the vintage nooks and photos they had here too. So many lovely things to look at! Again, this shop doesn’t have a website, but they do have an Instagram which is here.
Flying Fish
I only did one food place in this guide and although the food in Memphis was amazing, I had some camera drama (corrupted card) and only got to shoot this one place, but it was my favorite! As a Louisiana girl, I obviously am always looking for a place that sells crawfish. Seriously, it’s SO hard to find them! Rachel had also never had them so I knew when we got there I had to find a place where she could eat some. Luckily, Flying Fish saved the day! Honestly, even though this place was in Memphis, I felt like I was in Louisiana. With the way the fish tasted, to the fish on the wall, to the menus, it really just reminded me of going to grab food with my dad on the weekends. Honestly, it just felt like home.
I’m going to do a little post very soon including some of my purchases at these little shops in Memphis! So keep a lookout.
Love,
Noelle
