Two weekends ago I got my hair cut and colored at Parlor & Parlor in the East Village. I already posted a photo after I got it done, but here’s the full story! I never straighten my hair because I’m lazy (I actually wish I did sometimes!) so it’s really crazy for me to see it straight! I think I look so different. So I really felt like a new woman when I left the salon.

The two amazing gals who did my hair were Courtnee and Megan! I can’t rave enough about both of them. Courtnee did a great job with the color. She showed me a bunch of different swatches to help figure out which color was exactly what I wanted. I really liked the darkest brown option so that’s the one I went with! Sometimes it looks black and surprisingly, I love it! I never would of thought.

Going in, I had no idea if I wanted to get anything other than a trim. So Megan (who cut my hair) kind of helped me figure out what I wanted. I just got a much needed trim and some longer, subtle side bangs. I hadn’t cut my hair in almost two years, so this was a HUGE deal for me. She took of the perfect amount of my dead ends without really taking a lot of length off of my hair. I was so happy about that because I think that’s part of why I rarely get my hair cut.. they always chop off too much! So it was a perfect cut.

The best part is Parlor & Parlor is an Aveda salon! If you’ve never heard of Aveda products, they are amazing. Being from Louisiana, Aveda is very popular is salons in my home state, but not so much in New York. It was great to be at a salon with the products I had used in my hair most of my life!

If you have any extra questions about my hair experience, please leave a comment on this post and I will answer them! I really loved my experience, so if you are looking for a place in NYC (they have a Brooklyn salon as well!) to get your hair cut and/or color, try them out!

Love,

Noelle

My very first Mother’s Day as your mom my sweet My very first Mother’s Day as your mom my sweet Evergreen 🤍 you’ve changed my life forever & being your mom is always going to be the thing I am most proud of in my life 🤍 I remember right after she was born (this first photo) she was crying & I just kept saying “it’s okay baby, it’s okay” and I can’t even explain how surreal it was to be holding my baby in my arms. It’s hard for me sometimes to not feel like I’m counting down the Mother’s days my mom had with me.. thinking I only have 6 more. It reminds me constantly to be more present and make allllll the memories & don’t hold back. Being a mom is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done & also one of the absolute best, beautiful, meaningful things I’ve ever done. 🤍

A little love letter to this @sezane floral shirt A little love letter to this @sezane floral shirt of my dreams 💕🌷 this weekend is my first Mother’s Day and it has me thinking a lot about being a mom and weird little details. I used to think when you loved someone it meant you had every part of them memorized- you could pick out their hand in a line up or their lips. But with Ever I’ve realized it’s not like that- every single day she’s growing and every single day she wakes up a little bit different. It may sound silly but it’s been on my heart lately about how weirdly this feels like such an emotional part of motherhood that seems so simple but is something I never really thought about. #sezanelovers #sezanepartner
Motherhood is often seen as the ultimate balancing Motherhood is often seen as the ultimate balancing act - managing a career, maintaining a home, and raising children. But what if saying “no” could actually be empowering and give mothers the chance to say “yes”? #pureleafpartner 💕

That’s where the “No” Grants partnership with @pureleaf comes in. This program is designed to provide a little extra financial support to mothers who want to say “no” to the pressures and expectations that come with motherhood and “yes” to simplicity. With the “No” Grants partnership, Pure Leaf is empowering mothers to say “no” to doing it all and “yes” to simplifying life.
