I wanted to share the first part of a few posts I’ll be sharing from the Engagement Party. I DIY’d the table so I thought it’d be helpful to share a breakdown to make up the table settings and how easy it was to create my version of a classic antique winter setting vibe.
Our engagement party was soooo much fun and I spent most of the budget on the venue and food, so I really wanted to DIY the table myself since I really enjoy doing that kind of thing and I wanted to get very specific and personable with what I had in mind.
PLACE SETTING
The venue, Milk & Roses, only had disposable napkins and I prefer the look of cloth napkins so I decided to bring my own. I really love the Magnolia collection from Target and I already had cloth napkins from their collection, so I decided to buy more and now I have a super large collection of cloth napkins (which can always be good for future get togethers)! For the berries, we bought them at a local florist which can be fairly inexpensive if you find the right place, and the velvet ribbon was off of Amazon and they actually had quite a few color selections! I love how the touch of velvet with the berries created this enchanted winter vibe!
NAME CARDS
I had seen some name cards on Etsy that I really wanted but we unfortunately didn’t order them in time so we came up with the stamp idea and I actually ended up loving it even more! I loved the simplicity and imperfectness of the cards, and the acorn and pine cone symbols were perfect for the vintage eclectic feel I wanted the table to have. We bought the stamps at Casey Rubber Stamps in the East Village but there are a ton of stores online you can order them from for easy convenience!
CENTERPIECE
Thankfully the venue truly did a lot of the detail work for us with the hundreds of books lining the walls, so I really loved how simple we could keep the table. We thrifted a ton of brass candle sticks and got the white candles from the dollar store! We also got different variations of pine from the florist as well to add the finishing touches.
I hope this helps you with any Engagement Party Planning that you may have coming up. I know it can be overwhelming to think of ways to DIY things, so I hope this round up of what I did helped inspire you!
