my bedtime routine

I am SO excited to be writing a blog post about the This Works: Deep Sleep Pillow Spray! Though this is a sponsored post, I have been using this spray for a little over a year now! I remember the days when I was younger and falling asleep was so easy. ! Now, being that I am older and life has become more hectic in so many ways, trying to turn off the many thoughts racing around in my head so that I can sleep is not so easy! Especially with our wedding creeping up SO fast!

 

To help combat the stress of daily life and make sure that you get a good night’s sleep so that you’re not tossing and turning all night, I wanted to share my four step sleep regimen that will ease your mind and allow you to drift peacefully into sleep! 

 

 

  • Light your favorite candle! 

 

 

For me, lighting my favorite candle is a great way to get the sheep jumping over the fence! As we all know, scent is the most powerful memory trigger, so depending on which season it is, I like to choose a candle that is associated with many great memories of that particular time of year; which will really get that serotonin flowing and your mind at ease! I put this step as first, so the candle has enough time to burn while you’re getting ready for bed!

 

 

  • Skincare! 

 

 

Skincare for me is super important when it comes to winding down for the night! Nothing makes me happier than washing my face and applying my various face creams and serums! It is so easy to get caught up in your day to day life and feeling that you’re stretching yourself too thin; making you feel like there is no “me” time! Having a set skincare routine where you can relax and know you’re doing something good for your skin can be very beneficial in your quest for a good night’s sleep! 

 

 

  • Tea! 

 

 

Herbal tea is great for inducing sleep! There are many strands of herbs that are proven to relax the mind, which in turn helps you to shut out all of the chaos from earlier in the day! Tea is also great because it is something that can tie into skincare! One of my favorite things to do is put on a face mask and sip my tea as I listen to some relaxing music! This obviously doesn’t happen every night, but when I have the time this really helps me relax. !

 

  1. This Works: Deep Sleep Pillow Spray!

 

I normally spray it right before my head is about to hit the pillow! In my opinion it is best to do it this way instead of spraying it earlier, because This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray is made with therapeutic essential oils like  Lavender, Vetivert, and Camomile that calm your mind and soothes you to sleep, so you want there to be a certain degree of intensity to get the full affect! While I do use this regularly and think it definitely works, I will say my one tip of mine would be to use it when you are actually ready to go to sleep! Put the phone down, lay back, and let the pillow spray do its job!
