Getting Personal About The Wedding

July 3, 2019 By Noelle No Comments

As many of you already know, planning our wedding can be difficult at times. It’s not just the usual stress of planning a wedding (honestly that’s pretty stressful alone!) but also many personal things for me. I’ve been so excited to plan and everything has been so exciting that at times I honestly forget my parents won’t be there to see me walk down the aisle. If some of you maybe don’t know, both of my parents passed away when I was younger (I was 7 and then 16). I never really thought much about how it was going to affect me when I got married, but man not having them here can be hard. You think about your mom helping you pick out your wedding dress and your dad walking you down the aisle and you just get a bit gutted.. they won’t be there to help or do any of that with me. With that being said, we had decided from day one we wanted our wedding to be a bit nontraditional and to do what felt right for us.. so that I didn’t feel our wedding echoed what I didn’t have.. and it could really just be about Danny and me. With all that being said, we decided not to have bridal parties. Not having bridal parties meant we still wanted a way for our beloved family and friends to be included in a really special way. Since our wedding is November 2nd we thought it would be beautiful to have everyone specially dress in different shades of berry and red. Our wedding will only be about 100 people (sounds like so many but I suppose in wedding terms it’s small) and all of those 100 people are really our bridal party.. they each have impacted our lives in such a big way and we want everyone to be able to look around at each other and realize that. So I decided to take some of my girls to go try on some dresses that fit this theme at David’s Bridal. We tried on everything from bridesmaid dresses to event dresses so we had such a variety. Each girl picked such individual and unique dresses and it was so great seeing each one on everyone. The prices of every dress are also so great and I’m also always so surprised how affordable they are. I also cannot rave enough about the staff here. Every time I come in to David’s Bridal, my experience is amazing and I always come out feeling so good. Everyone is incredibly sweet and helpful. Shop some of the dresses we tried on below!

My very first Mother’s Day as your mom my sweet My very first Mother’s Day as your mom my sweet Evergreen 🤍 you’ve changed my life forever & being your mom is always going to be the thing I am most proud of in my life 🤍 I remember right after she was born (this first photo) she was crying & I just kept saying “it’s okay baby, it’s okay” and I can’t even explain how surreal it was to be holding my baby in my arms. It’s hard for me sometimes to not feel like I’m counting down the Mother’s days my mom had with me.. thinking I only have 6 more. It reminds me constantly to be more present and make allllll the memories & don’t hold back. Being a mom is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done & also one of the absolute best, beautiful, meaningful things I’ve ever done. 🤍

A little love letter to this @sezane floral shirt A little love letter to this @sezane floral shirt of my dreams 💕🌷 this weekend is my first Mother’s Day and it has me thinking a lot about being a mom and weird little details. I used to think when you loved someone it meant you had every part of them memorized- you could pick out their hand in a line up or their lips. But with Ever I’ve realized it’s not like that- every single day she’s growing and every single day she wakes up a little bit different. It may sound silly but it’s been on my heart lately about how weirdly this feels like such an emotional part of motherhood that seems so simple but is something I never really thought about. #sezanelovers #sezanepartner
Motherhood is often seen as the ultimate balancing Motherhood is often seen as the ultimate balancing act - managing a career, maintaining a home, and raising children. But what if saying “no” could actually be empowering and give mothers the chance to say “yes”? #pureleafpartner 💕

That’s where the “No” Grants partnership with @pureleaf comes in. This program is designed to provide a little extra financial support to mothers who want to say “no” to the pressures and expectations that come with motherhood and “yes” to simplicity. With the “No” Grants partnership, Pure Leaf is empowering mothers to say “no” to doing it all and “yes” to simplifying life.
