Favorite ways to unwind

January 30, 2020 By Noelle No Comments

This post is sponsored by Pantene, but all thoughts are truly my own!

With the start of the New Year, it’s safe to say that many of us take this time to reflect on our past year and see the different ways we can make the new year better! One thing I always work on year after year is making sure I put aside time for myself and am de-stressing and relaxing. I find it sets me up for a better week and really helps with my overall health- but especially my mental health! For me, personally, the biggest part of my self-care routine happens at night! Though I do few self-care rituals throughout the day, it is harder to commit time fully to myself since work can get in the way! I’m going to be sharing my top tips that help me unwind after a long day!

1. Bath time

If you know me, you know I love my baths! For me, a bath is the perfect way to decompress, while also nourishing your body with some amazing skin and hair products!

Now that we are done with all of the back-to-back major holidays from last year, I like to take this time to recover my hair! Having gone to a lot of holiday parties and events, I put my hair through the wringer! I’ve started using Pantene’s Fortifying Damage Repair Collection with Castor Oil from the new Nutrient Blends Collection and I can already tell the difference! Castor oil is known for protecting and repairing, which is perfect for my overworked hair and scalp! The Castor Oil Shampoo helps to cleanse and strengthen my hair, and the Castor Oil Conditioner helps to nourish and restore my hair to its former silky glory! Not only are these products helping to bring balance back to my hair, but they are free of sulfates, parabens, dye and mineral oil! My hair is so thankful I started using both of these!! If you’re interested in trying this product for yourself, you can find the Pantene Nutrient Blends Collection here!

Because of the beautiful blends within the collection, I was inspired to share more with you about my self-care routine and how I retreat for some time to myself.

2. Meditating or taking time off of my phone.

For me this is HUGE! I think we all tend to mindlessly sit there on our phones … and then next thing you know a full hour has gone by! This year, I’m making it a priority to take time off of my phone for a little bit and digest; just breathe and focus on me! I love to light my favorite diffuser scents or light a candle during this time too!

3. Tea

Tea is something that I drink religiously! The world of tea is really expansive and there are so many kinds that have ingredients that cater to many things! Whether it be for indigestion, calming, or promoting sleep; there’s a tea for it! When it comes to unwinding, I always go for a tea that has a combination of lavender and mint! These ingredients are perfect for helping you relax!

4. Cuddle/play time with my pup

I know this one might sound silly, but one of my favorite things I do to unwind is playing with my dog! From taking him on a walk or just getting some cuddles in with him, it truly helps relax me! They say there’s just something about animals that’s calming and it’s 100% the case for me. Just puts me at ease and Duke OBVIOUSLY loves the attention!

Honestly this post just goes out to Danny. In my m Honestly this post just goes out to Danny. In my mind I had some sort of expectation of how he would be at birth or with our daughter and wow he is just beyond anything I ever could of imagined. He kept telling me how proud he was of me while I was pushing, giving me so many words of encouragement that just fueled me through. He listens to the baby blues I often get as the sun sets and does the 5 minute journal with me to help reflect on all the days positive moments. He reminds me it’s normal and okay to cry during this time. He thanks me for growing our perfect little girl. He just makes me feel seen at this time where my emotions are all over the place. While this time becoming a mom has been MAGICAL it’s also a lot of emotions of what my new future looks like, realizing what will never be the same about my old life. He listens to it all with no judgement ❤️ I even texted his mom to say thank you for creating and raising such a wonderful son ❤️ basically all this to say- I love Danny even more and I didn’t think that was physically possible 🥹 my heart has truly grown 10 more sizes the past few days
