Central Park memories are my favorite…

I honestly think I can say this is my favorite spot in New York City. I now have so many memories here, it’s a really special spot for me. I’ve been here with Rachel and Danny to have a picnic in the fall after a failed trip upstate, I’ve been here to shoot my friends Jade and Trent’s engagement photos, and in this post I am here with my Aunt Sara Margaret ,my cousin Sara Kate, and my love Danny. My Aunt and cousin were in town a few weeks ago and while in NY, I had to have a picnic with them here at my favorite spot. They had gotten all of the food and holy moly, it was the best picnic I have ever had! We had so many yummy fruits, cheeses, breads, and pastries! Seriously, it was so delicious! Not to mention, in our red solo cups (we kept singing this Toby Keith song) we were drinking gin and ginger ail! I would love to go back to this moment. These photos really have me daydreaming..

This plaid long skirt is by Alice’s Pig and I believe is the first long skirt I have ever owned. I am beyond thrilled that it’s my first longer skirt because it’s PERFECT. I mean seriously, the way it looks when you’re walking and the fact that it’s super high waisted is too good! I paired it with this cropped Alice’s Pig top (because their stuff goes great together!) and felt amazing all day. I’m not sure why, but I loved wearing this skirt so much. I really liked having something flow behind me.. ha. I’m sure I sound a bit crazy, but I hope you sort of know what I mean!

This necklace is another one by Peter and June. I’m so in love with all of their pieces, you’ll be seeing a lot more! This one is so playful and I feel like I could wear it with any collared shirt!

I can’t wait for Gov Ball this weekend!

Weekend in Philly

Finally sharing this Mod Dolly look from my weekend trip to Philly…

IMG_3997 IMG_4040 IMG_4120 IMG_3954 IMG_4049 IMG_3944 IMG_3992 IMG_3984 IMG_4012 IMG_4019 IMG_4109 IMG_4058 IMG_4125Perhaps about a month ago, I went on a little weekend trip to Philly (taking the bus up and everything!) and here I am finally getting around to sharing some snaps I took while there. I decided to take a tiny break from the Memphis photos to share this look with you! Plus some shots of one of my BFF’s Jade Younger, a friend I have known for literally half of my life. She’s almost like my sister in some ways.

Now, I know I’m different on this one, but I enjoy wearing plaid year round. Perhaps it’s because my name is Noelle and I’m the biggest lover of Christmas (and winter) that there ever could be but man plaid always lures me in! This cute little Mod Dolly number is just too perfect to only be worn in one season! I kept it cute with this velvet kitty bag (which I am coming to terms I may have too many kitty bags) and these Forever 21 shoes that have been in nearly every post I have made lately! I promise I’ll return to wearing my other shoes soon. I just love these so much!

I wish while I was in Philly I would of taken more random photos, but sadly I did not! More trips coming up soon though (California!) and I’ll try to take some random NY bits soon.

Lorraine Motel

A little outside view from the Civil Rights Museum…

We had noticed this motel and didn’t realize it was apart of the museum at first. It turns out it was the motel Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated at and afterwards business went down and the motel went out of business. The city bought the motel and now it is literally attached to the museum. There’s so much history to learn there, but also because they still have the motel there it really takes you back to the horrific scene. It’s odd that my photos can look so cheery at a place where a terrible event occurred. I wanted to take a moment to state the history of what’s happened behind these photos. A great link to learn even more about Martin Luther King Jr. history is here. I can certainly say Memphis has a lot of history, both painful and joyful, which is something that made this trip extra special.

On a completely different note, how’s this gingham backpack with gingham sunnies combo? This is a new favorite look of mine (and not shockingly so, since it’s red, white, and blue!). I have a really hard time finding shorts I love but you GUYS I have gotten very lucky lately with so many! These ones are MissGuided and I really dig them. I think they can be worn in a very 50’s way (as I did here) but also Boho and modern. I wore an American Apparel denim shirt underneath with this Kling anchor sweater over it! Good for a 70 degree day.

I recently found these Mink Pink sunnies at Crossroads trading and had to have them! They are just too good and a perfect find! I’ve been wearing them a lot lately.

So sorry for the delay for a few days there with posting! My Aunt and cousin were in town and I was so busy spending time with them and having so much fun I got a little sidetrack! But I have lots of catching up to do!
