The little details in my apartment

Showing you a few new pieces I’m loving in my apartment!…

Candle and Matches

So this goes without saying. Who doesn’t get excited about getting a new candle, especially one as luxurious as this one?! I mean, the gold is just too pretty! After the candle is all gone, I’ll either try to make my own candle or clean it out and store jewels in it just because it’s so gorgeous! Also oddly nice matches are something I personally love. The smell of a burnt match is one of my favorites and this little box is so cute! It has hearts on one size and then the other size had the days of the week. So adorable and both go so well with all of my random knick-knacks (and guys I have a lot of them.)

I bought some pretty ugly looking magnets and constantly wished I had nicer ones. I know magnets are such an afterthought, but having beautiful ones that are actually sturdy (meaning they aren’t flying off your fridge when you open it!) is so nice. These Kate Spade little bows are quite an upgrade from my ugly ones and NOTHING flies off my fridge now! Plus they really just make already cute photos look even more adorable.

I’ve just wanted a small rug to have some of my shoes on. I have so many shoes and I store a lot of them in weird places because my apartment is so small. When I was shopping on Lulu and Georgia, I was trying to decide between a circle rug or a rectangular and decided on this one. I feel the colors go with every season, but also go well with the rest of my apartment. It fits my eclectic bits and bobs in the perfect way.

Office Supplies

Again, this is something I usually just have an ugly variety of. You know.. the usual tape and stapler that are either grey or black. I decided to change that with these Kate Spade acrylic and gold beauties. They are so sleek, but with little quirky messages on each item. The pencil cup says ‘a stoke of genius’, the stapler says ‘keep it together’ and the tape dispenser says ‘make it stick.’ It’s the little details like this that get me! You can’t help but want to use them.

New In: #1

IMG_4977I’ve decided to start a new series on my blog called ‘New In’. On Instagram, I post little layouts of outfits I’d like to wear or would wear that day. Usually it’s a new piece I either just bought or got in the mail and I just can’t wait to share it! So, I’ve decided every few weeks I’ll do a New In to show you some of my favorite new pieces I’ve either bought, thrifted, or received! Sooooo…. here goes:

This tee by Orphans Arms is so good! Recently I’ve had a huge love for tee shirts that have the perfect design to still have it be very cute. Plus having a pet bunny doesn’t hurt either! I just got this Coach bag in and I’m so obsessed I have it in red polka dot as well! It has such a unique shape and it’s so light which means I’ll be using it alllll summer! Paired with some black skinnies and it’s an easy weekend look.

These ankle strap Forever 21 shoes are one of my very best purchases. I mean, after they came in the mail I bought them in black and now I can’t stop telling myself I need to buy a second pair of the red ones incase I wear them to death. They are only $25 dollars and could easily be my favorite pair of shoes! I like wearing them with more classic pieces such as this Dear Creatures dress I thrifted at Crossroads Trading. Topped off with a good book and some heart sunnies!

While in Austin, I scored these adorable leopard sandals at a second hand store by Charlotte Olympia. She’s without a doubt one of my favorite designers and I was over the moon I saw these sitting on the shelf and they were my size! I’ll be wearing the hell out of them this summer and am thinking they would look great with a little dark denim overall dress and a silk blouse like this one by Boden.  I also love this plate for putting my delicate jewelry in by Family Affairs! The crystal design is so special.

This Kate Spade bag I have been dying for since I saw it in a preview this winter. I mean, it’s a whicker SNAIL!? How could a bag be more perfect? It really feels like a collectors piece because the quality is so amazing. I’ll be wearing it once the NY weather finally gets warm with everything! I especially love it with this cheeky spring sweater by Miss Patina and some gingham! Plus these vintage hair clips for an even more adorable feel!

It’s not new news that I love a good nautical look! This adorable cropped sweater is not itchy and is light enough to wear on the days that are in the 60’s! It’s by Kling and so is this dress that is layered underneath. I also thrifted these Miu Miu loafers recently and I am over the MOON because I’ve wanted these since they came out a few seasons ago! They are simple, but sparkly which is what my dream shoe consist of!

Let me know how you guys liked this new type of post in the reply’s below!

Showing you how I styled this adorable little envelope clutch..

This is yet another look from Beacon. Basically as soon as we got to our bed and breakfast I couldn’t wait to shoot near this shed in the back. I mean, it’s adorable?! How could I not want to? I had also brought along this bright red Pepaloves dress and though it couldn’t be more perfect.

To add even more playfulness to this dress, I have my Kate Spade envelope clutch I thrifted recently. I’m nuts over this little clutch! I feel like as the weather gets warmer I’ll use it more and more. It would be so cute with a summer dress and boater hat! I also wore this vintage velvet bow headband. It was the perfect finishing touch!

I can’t believe I haven’t mentioned this, but on Tuesday I leave to go to SXSW! I’m going with Rachel, her boyfriend Johnny, and my boyfriend Danny and I can’t WAIT for the warm weather! Plus I have lots of looks planned to share with you.

Happy Friday!
